McCain Nails It!
I watched the Saddleback event last night and was concerned that Obama would make McCain look like a dottering old man. Wow, was I wrong. McCain blew Obama away! I watched from my couch and had to sit up while McCain was answering the questions because I was getting fired up and excited.
Before last night, I was going to vote against Obama in the Presidential election. Now I'm firmly in the McCain camp and I will be voting for McCain.
Here is my quick and shallow analysis of the event. To me the contrast between the two was stark. McCain actually directly answered each question where you had no doubt what his answer was. He was concise, clear and direct. With Obama, I was unclear what his answer was on several questions, and uh, um ah um ah he um uhh ahh um was hard um uh ah ah um to um ah um follow um ah um. He meandered throughout his questions and seemed to be struggling for an answer on almost all of the questions. He looked indecisive, unclear, avoided many questions and unprepared.
On the «When does life begin question», Obama answered it by saying abortions have gone up during the last eight years (which is a lie) and said we need to bring those down. He spent several minutes saying what I just said in one sentence. He also didn't even answer the question. McCain said «At conception». Next.
On the «Which Supreme Court Justice would you not have nominated or selected» question Obama answered by saying Clarance Thomas was basically unqualified and inexperienced, implying he's an idiot. Ironic, huh? This coming from Obama. McCain answered by saying «With all due respect to them, Justice Ginsberg, Justice Breyer, Justice Souter, and Justice Stevens.» Notice how McCain showed respect for the Justices even though he doesn't agree with them by using their title and not attacking them personally like Obama did?
On the «Flip Flop» question, I don't even remember what Obama eventually wound up saying, I think I went to the fridge and got a Bud. But McCain I do. Offshore Drilling! Yeah, my friend!
On the «evil» questions, Obama said something about confronting it but failed to mention the current evil we are dealing with now. Weak. McCain said we must defeat it and then went into a very clear reason of why and who. He would even go to the Gates of Hell to get Osama Bin Laden. It was perfect.
That's my quick and dirty analysis, I don't feel like going though any more questions. Suffice it to say, I'm firmly in McCain's camp now. I'm heading up to the Republican office on Brooks on Monday, writing a check and getting my McCain bumper sticker! Call me a McCainiac. He said everything I wanted to hear last night. I'm hoping other conservatives like me feel the same way and get excited about our candidate!

Why don't the MSM use the word Gravitas when describing McCain?

Count mine as another vote no longer «against» BO; I'm now voting «for» Johnny Mac.
There are two extremely important issues that McCain has been consistent on for over 25 years:
1 - National Security
2 - Abortion
And now more than ever, I have confidence that he'll be appointing the right variety of judges.
Whatever else I disagree with him on can be tolerated.

Andy-- You're not the only one who noticed Barack Hussein Obama bombed. Check out this editorial:

My favorite quote from the editorial:
On taxes, Obama waxed political: «What I'm trying to do is create a sense of balance and fairness in our tax code.» McCain showed an understanding of what drives a free economy: «I don't want to take any money from the rich. I want everybody to get rich. I don't believe in class warfare or redistribution of the wealth.»
