Obama Bars Muslims from Being in Picture with Uniter

Fearing ties to the Muslim faith, Obama staffers barred two Muslim women with headscarves from appearing in photos or TV pictures with the candidate of unity.

Two Muslim women at Barack Obama's rally in Detroit Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women's headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.

When the campaign was called on it, they apologized, at least, and claimed this is not their policy.

«This is of course not the policy of the campaign. It is offensive and counter to Obama's commitment to bring Americans together and simply not the kind of campaign we run,» said Obama spokesman Bill Burton. «We sincerely apologize for the behavior of these volunteers.»

We should expect to see more Muslim supporters with Obama despite their fears of the current «political climate» mentioned as the excuse by an Obama volunteer.

The men said the volunteer, a twenty-something African American woman in a green shirt, asked if their friends looked and were dressed like the young men, who were all light-skinned and wearing suits. Miller said yes, but mentioned that one of their friends was wearing a headscarf with her suit.

The volunteer «explained to me that because of the political climate and what's going on in the world and what's going on with Muslim Americans it's not good for her to be seen on TV or associated with Obama,» said Koussan, who is a law student at Wayne State University.

Both Koussan and Miller said they specifically recalled the volunteer citing the «political climate» in telling them they couldn't sit behind Obama.

«I was like, 'You've got to be kidding me. Are you serious?'» Koussan recalled.

Time for a Change? This guy is in over his head.

How is this relevant?

Bloggers, such as yourself, make much out of all sorts of events, even when they have no bearing on the issues at hand.

Dave,
It's relevant because it shows the Obama Campaign's hypocrisy of being a uniter and an agent of hope. They should embrace and actively pursue those of the Muslim faith, not push them aside like trash.

Barry Hussein, otherwise known as The Great Kahn, has gotten to the point where he cannot be seen in public with any of his friends, relatives, supporters, or mentors if he wants to be elected. But like maggots in rotten food, you can be certain they will emerge after the election.

Ear Wax,

Just as such John McCain has tried to separate himself from G.W., that's a well known fact. Even the right-wingers have recommended him to do this. Goes both ways!

The Great Kahn

LMAO!

Heh heh. Thanks Carol.

Tina: Go away with your George Bush obsession, will you? I never heard George Bush say «God damn America!» That would be one of Barry Hussein's pals, correct?

And get caught up on the news, will you? Bush and McCain are doing a one-two punch on the Democrat-controlled Congress over its lack of an energy policy. That doesn't sound to me like those two guys are avoiding each other.

Your right...but that is the word for today. You and I both know factually that it has NOT always been that way.

I have heard George Bush say, «Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties.» --discussing the Iraq war with Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson in 2003.

And we have heard John McCain say a few days ago that the «deaths in Iraq were not important.»

Does this mean that John McCain hates Americans, because he feel that they are NOT important. And what about John Hagee as long as we are talking religion??

Time to pick a new battle Ear Wax.

Oops, I must correct myself. John McCain said that «how long we are in Iraq is NOT important, just the causualties»

Its my opinion that we can't have one of those without the other. Because the longer we are there, the more causualties we are going to have. So it should be important.

You're the one who's picking the fight, which is weird because you're always losing them, based on what I've read around here.

Is getting blog slapped your idea of feeling important?

Anyway, just ago away. You have nothing new to say. All you do is rehash your obsessions.

Well read some more then Ear Wax. And I don't consider seeing the errors on both sides and agreeing with issues in both columns as being «blog slapped»

The campaign on Monday barred cameras from a large gathering of African-American civic leaders Obama attended. It recently refused to provide names of religious figures with whom Obama met in Chicago and directed some of them to avoid reporters by using a special exit.

Andy,
You stated, «It's relevant because it shows the Obama Campaign's hypocrisy of being a uniter and an agent of hope. They should embrace and actively pursue those of the Muslim faith, not push them aside like trash.»

If we are to compare the GOP's and Dem's candidates comments and activities, we should use the same measure, which may not always be the same.

While I may look doubtfully upon Obama's recent public performance as it pertains to the Muslim women, it does not appear politically inappropriate given the penchant of people, including the GOP, to interpret events with little or no sound evidentiary foundation.

If Obama is hypocritical, can it not be said the GOP is hugely hypocritical for attempting to claim the moral high ground, via the family values argument, and then have some of its own members engage in an ethically inappropriate fashion, such as Operation Chaos?

What do family values have to do with Operation Chaos? If you mean there are those in the GOP who preach family values yet are caught in sex scandals, they resign in shame or are voted out. Yes they are hypocrites but they pay the price for their discretions.

My apologies for not explaining well my core analysis.
An individual's belief system generally dictates what they will do. What a person does is indicative of core values. Thus Operation Chaos can be viewed as a behavioral expression of beliefs held by a group of individuals.
If we acquire our beliefs (values) from our immediate family, often touted as the cornerstone of society, and claim society is better if certain 'family values' are inculcated, it is logical to state the behavior of individuals engaging in Operation Chaos and their family values are linked.
You make a similar argument when you link the Obama campaign's actions, concerning Muslims, and their policies, claiming they are indicative of hypocrisy.
Operation Chaos and the GOP's claim they are the party better associated with family values should be also be viewed as hypocritical.
While hypocrisy may be political behavior, is it one we should allow to continue?
That said, I offer a caveat. This positive correlation between thought and deed is not absolute... humans are not entirely rational and there will always be some misteps in our efforts to ensure our deeds are commensurate with our beliefs and vice versa. But if we truly wish a better society, we must strive to disallow all forms of dishonesty.

We are still waiting for Larry Craig to resign. Hopefully Idaho does the right thing and votes him out. What a disgrace to mankind. I'm sure Idaho wants to wash its hands of this man.

Tina,
In case you don't remember, I will remind you that several prominent Republicans called for Craig to resign. They included McCain, Coleman, and Hoekstra. I'm still waiting for one prominent Democrat to call for William 'Cold Cash' Jefferson to resign.

Republicans were able to strip Craig of his leadership position. Democrats tend to promote their lawbreakers. There is no leadership on the Democrat side, as demonstrated in their weak presidential nominee, who is just a tad to the left of Bernie Sanders.

lol. I was just agreeing with Andy. I do remember, and it is a shame all around.

Hey ear-wax. Have you ever heard of Reverand Moon? I have never heard Obama say God Damn America. And you even say that it was a «friend» so if he is guilty by association in your eyes, where does that leave your Bush?
