Hammond Eggs

Andy's random thoughts for 6/15/08:

  • Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
  • I'm very sad for Tim Russert's passing.  He was a class act, likeable, and came off as an objective journalist despite being a liberal.
  • How can anybody think that by taxing «windfall» profits would help lower the price of gas?  I'm glad the adults (Republicans) were successful blocking the bill.
  • I'm stunned by the floods in Iowa.  The pictures of Cedar Rapids are heart wrenching.  I'm praying for the people in Iowa who are affected.
  • I can't believe the Supreme Court has given foreign enemy combatants captured on the battlefield, Constitutional Rights.
  • I think we can absolutely drill our way out of the current oil shortage.  There is hundreds of years of supply in the ground.  We just need to be able to get it.
  • I think French President Sarkozy is fantastic.  A big fan of the US!
  • Where's the outrage about Democrat leaders receiving preferential treatment from Countrywide?
  • It's nice having Dave Budge back.
  • I got to see Huey Lewis perform in Stevensville Saturday night when a friend told me about it.  It was pretty cool seeing him but he didn't do any of his hit songs! I guess you get what you pay for!
  • Obama scares me.  I think he's a puppet for somebody behind the scenes.  He is not qualified by any stretch of the imagination but he's got charisma and is a dynamic speaker.  He will probably win.

Happy Fathers Day!

It is very sad about Tim Russert, liberals can be fair and classy.

I think this block is only temporary.

I join you in your prayers it absolutely horrifying what they are going through and the losses will be devastating.

Did you really think we could keep the detainees there forever? Even the Republicans call them (detainees) and not prisoners. What if were Americans being held somewhere? Oh wait that did happen, and it didn't go over very well.

I agree we should be doing more drilling here. Just think of the money we would save transporting alone. I sympathize with nature and the polar bears. I would not want them ruining the land of my beloved Montana. However, there must be a way to do it. With the technology that we have, we should easily be able to drill closer to home and provide minimal damage to ecology.

Sarkozy...Smarkozy

Where is the outrage of the Keating Five? Talk about pointing fingers first.

Never heard of Dave?

Huey Lewis, awesome! I have not seen him in years. Too bad on him not singing his #1 hits. Is he still being a creep about letting people fish in a public creek?

They both scare me, but I do believe he is the lesser-evil. Your right, he will win.

Wow that was fun, you had a lot to say Andy.

Thanks, Tina. It was fun doing it. I'll do more because there are some things I want to express but don't have the time or energy and this is a quick way of doing some random thoughts bouncing around in my limited brain.

Limited brain? Just as liberals can be classy and likeable, conservatives can be smart! Gotcha :0)

Tina,
I would love to see your opinion on how Andy's post illustrate intelligence.

Please enlighten me. Where is the content?

Colby, I have to say that I only agree with Andy about 10% of the time, and during those times in my opinion, which may not be shared, I think he is being intelligent. The other 90% of the time, I try to express my opinion without hostility or name calling. I have been called a liberal, but that's not the worst thing that I have been called on Andy's blog. I was even told once that I needed to have my husband slap me around because my opinion was so...what's the word? Oh yeah...wishy-washy. I do respect that this is Andy's blog, but it will NOT keep me from expressing my views, and pointing out the errors of the conservatives. But I feel confident enough to not do it with name calling, which is much more than I can say for a couple of other bloggers on this post. Unless Andy cuts me off like he did a.citizen.

I'm curious, when somebody calls some of the leftwing bloggers 'nutjobs', is it the same 'nutjobs' that Schweitzer is referring to in this Billings Gazette Article ?

Schweitzer said his name pops up only on a «very long list.» The governor said «nut jobs» on the blogs are keeping his name alive. He said no one from the Obama campaign, or connected to it, has talked to him about the job.

«No one in the adult world is doing this,» Schweitzer said.

He did say that its «nut jobs» on the blogs that keep bringing his name up. However he didn't say if those «nut jobs were liberal or conservative. So maybe those «nut jobs» are actually conservatives. And this could be plan B for Operation Chaos. Not sure...could be...who knows for sure. So in reality the rightwing bloggers could be the so-called «nutjobs.»

You better watch out, Tina. I'll have you agreeing with me 90% of the time if you keep coming here? ;-)

Fair enough Tina, but no where in your response did you explain when Andy is intelligent; you instead diverted into talking about the treatment he (and in other ways, other commenters) gives you.

So again, do you think Andy's posts show intelligence.? For that matter, do they show fairness and respect either?

Ok now Andy is being funny! Fair play with the humor Andy, but I'm a stubborn woman!

Colby, your right I didn't respond with any specifics about Andy being intelligent. My statement is just an opinion of mine from the last few months of blogging here. Andy's posts do not show any fairness what-so-ever, but its his blog. Andy will only post negatives about the left wing because that's the way he likes it. As far as respect, Andy has crossed the line with me once, and I did with him also. We both came out with scratches but both smiled in the end. As far as the others that have said horrible things, I can't control them nor do I want to. People like that are not worth my time and I believe that the only reason they are so hostile is to cover up for their own insecurities! I'm on your side 90% of the time Colby, but I just don't have time write about specifics when all I'm doing is voicing my opinion which is based on a few short months. You may be wiser to Andy's ways, I'm not there yet.

You may be wiser to Andy's ways, I'm not there yet.

Fair enough, I only ask that you pay attention to what he says to others. Countless times he has called me a American hater, a elitist, someone who hope troops die, etc. He will tell you it was never personal since he never used my name, but he has no problems applying those labels to Liberals, myself included, so it becomes personal.

While I completely disagree with Andy (whatever his real name is), I certainly don't think he hates our country or wants anything nefarious to occur; I only wish he could show a similar level of respect for his opponents.

Colby,
I admittedly use broad generalizations describing liberals and their positions. Take them personal if you want. I am smart enough, despite what you think, to understand there are always exceptions and understand the reason for using those broad generalizations. I've seen the same type of broad generalizations about Conservatives on your's and other Lefty blogs and I don't take them personal. I understand them for what they are.

I know I may have crossed the line a couple of times in the heat of an argument but I am human and let my emotions get the best of me. But I'm pretty sure I've never went to the level many on the left have said about me.

What I find offensive are the outright personal attacks implying I'm a child molester. I can also say I've never called any lefty commenter or blogger a douch, stupid, an illiterate ass, a piece of crap, a complete moron, an idiot, wingnuttiest of the wingnuts or the dumbest blogger in the history of the world. I actually get a kick out of these and collect them.

I've never claimed to be an intellectual which seems to be the standard you are applying to me. I'm just a regular, plain spoken, lunch pail kind of guy who uses the internet to express my Conservative beliefs. You loath me for those beliefs and go out of your way to attack me and my intelligence in order to try to discredit me. I'm not looking for your respect or acceptance. The only way to get that is to agree with you and I'm not going to do that because I don't agree with your Liberal beliefs. I consider them dangerous to the American way of life and the freedoms and liberty we enjoy.

I am as passionate about my Conservative beliefs as you are about your Liberal beliefs. If that makes me stupid and dumb to you, so be it. I really don't care.

The only way to get that is to agree with you and I'm not going to do that because I don't agree with your Liberal beliefs.

Wrong, at least with me; the only way to get my respect is to seem to defend your ideas, no matter how much I may disagree with them, through on-going conversations and debate. Everytime I have tried either with you, you have either bailed on the conversation of let the trolls take over.

Despite the fact that we don't often agree, I would respect your positions if I felt you defended them. But instead you post and then never return, and to me an elementary part of blogging is in the comments, in the dialog, in the conversations we have about what we say. Certainly you an disagree, but that is where i stand. I don't know why a person would put up their opinions, especially such strongly held ones, if they weren't ready to defend them well.

As for never calling any left commenter or blogger a douch, stupid, etc; I think you have called us far worse. You have called us anti-american; dangerous, troop haters, etc.

Do you honestly not see that?
