Vetting His Vetters

I just can't keep up! I never got around to posting about recently convicted Obama friend Tony Rezko.

Now we hear about James Johnson, one of Obama's advisors and member of his VP vetting team.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the story Saturday. The link is for subscribers only, but here's the gist:

Countrywide Financial Corp. makes mortgage loans through a vast network of offices, brokers and call centers. But a few customers have gotten their loans a special way: through Countrywide Chief Executive Angelo Mozilo ... One was James Johnson, a longtime Democratic Party power and an adviser to Sen. Barack Obama's campaign, who this past week was named to a panel that is vetting running-mate possibilities for the presumed nominee.

The New York Sun has more details today, including some from the Journal, along with Obama's charges that Countrywide helped «infect the economy» and create the foreclosure problem, and his critique of its executives for taking $19 million in bonuses while people were losing their homes.

It's only June and these shady and questionable associations keep bubbling up.  What are we going to find out in the five months left before the election??

Time for a change?  Doesn't look like it.

Update: Johnson resigns.

Andy, it looks like you also missed the story about the 35 reasons George should/can be impeached over.

Tina;
You mean the «Rockerfeller Report» that completely exhonerated him?

Nope the one from today where Dennis Kucinich is calling it the «Impeachment Resolution.» I wonder if Mclellan will having anything more to say?

Tina,
I didn't miss it. I ignored it. Kucinich should be embarrassed.

Those articles of impeachment should also be brought against Hillary, Bill, Pelosi, Albright, Levin, Dashcle, Kerry, and Rockefeller. I posted about it Jan. 11, 2007.

And I think that McCain should be impeached for trying to «veto all beers.» :0)

I'm hoping to get a case of Bud for supporting McCain!

tina;
Mclellan will only say what George Soros tells him to say and none of it will be new or true.

Can we say Richard Armitage?

jlw3mt, your right about nothing being new, but there will be some truth to it.

Andy, just make sure you get your Bud from WalMart!

McCain couldn't pass his own vetting process, because of his association with the Keating Five savings and loan scandal. Ed Rollins, Republican strategist, gave an unequivocal defense of Jim Johnson.

HMMMM I think that McCain is grasping at straws especially when fello Republican's are calling him out.

I'm not sure what McCain's vetting process is, or if he could pass it.

Obama apparently uses the liberal version of vetting. He has such low standards everybody can pass. (Except, of course, people who disagree with him, which makes them racists.)
