Operation Chaos Update: Clinton in Billings on May 10

Bill Clinton will be in Billings on May 10 to campaign for Hillary and speak at the Yellowstone County Democrat's Truman Dinner at MSU-Billings. Although the dinner is sold out, there are some tickets available for $40 to hear him and others speak in the gymnasium after the dinner, I assume.

There will be some Obama supporters speaking as well so it's important that Hillary's campaign gets the message that there is more support in Montana for Hillary then for Obama. If you can, go to the speeches with Hillary campaign paraphernalia and make a lot of noise and show a lot of energy for Hillary. If there are other opportunities to show support for Hillary at the University while Bill is there try to gather up all your Conservative friends and show your support and enthusiasm. The more Clinton supporters out there on May 10th the better. It would be great if the Gazette and the local TV news would get some pictures of of the enthusiastic support and enthusiasm there is in Billings for Hillary!

I would even suggest getting Hillary bumper stickers on your cars, yard signs, and buttons in the days before May 10 so Clinton's advance team sees the support and reports back. Leave it all up through the primary on June 3.

Montana loves Hillary!!!

Be real, Andy. I couldn't leave the house with a Hillary bumper sticker on my vehicle. Do you have any idea what my neighbors would think of me? My reputation would be shot. Am I supposed to roll down my window and shout to everybody, Hey, it's just Operation Chaos. I'm really not a Democrat!

Put up a Hillary yard sign in my county? You're insane.

Maybe you can get away with stuff like that in a city where nobody knows you, but out here in the real Montana that doesn't work.

Southwest,
I see a great opportunity to recruit your neighbors! See what they say and have some fun with it. We can all switch back from the «dark side» after June 3!

The best part of Operation Nitwit is that you can pretend it actually matters, even though it doesn't at all. That must make you feel quite special.

If Limbaugh couldn't even keep John McCain from destroying the Republican field with his constant attacks, I am somehow supposed to believe that he and his brainless followers can actually disrupt another party's process?

If it doesn't matter, Pogie, why are you even responding to Andy's post?

I'm thinking that deep down, perhaps, you're worried just an eensy, teensy bit?

Otherwise please continue to pretend that it doesn't matter.

I'll sit back here with a bag of popcorn and enjoy the show.

Pogie,
It matters more then you know. My interview on Operation Chaos Montana was published in the Billing Gazette, The Missoulian, The Helena IR, and the Montana Standard. The response I received was huge. I was able to help educate a lot of people, with the help of the media, how the open primary process works and how we can help the Conservative cause by voting for Hillary, even as a Republican.

Great idea, Andy. I hope a bunch of Billings Republicans spend $40 to see Bill Clinton. The more the merrier. I hear the Yellowstone County Democrats will be spending the money raised at the Truman dinner on Democratic candidates in the area. I'm sure they could use all the Republican contributions they can get. Keep up the good work.

Pogie & Pete:

Why so bitter? You're supposed to love democracy.

Andy ~ I really enjoy your site and am very glad you're back in the active blogosphere - but I strongly oppose your efforts in this campaign. We (Republicans) have some really important down-ticket primary races. Your efforts on Operation Chaos could have a hugely negative impact on the future of Montana. I totally understand the gleeful fantasy of having big old full color pictures of Brian Schweitzer with his arms around Hillary plastered across every paper in the state, but balanced against one of the Koopman Kooks stealing a primary win in a moderate house district that would then go Dem in the general election just isn't worth it. Remember, Congress hasn't repealed the Law of Unintended Consequences or Murphy's Law.

Operation Chaos could end up being Operation Catastrophe very easily!

Yo, Southwest Montana. Bitter? I don't think so. I was dead serious.

Bitterly serious.

I'm not planning on giving any Democrats any money, especially to listen to Clinton to speak. I was thinking more on the lines of printing out life-size replicas of Rush Limbaugh and place them in strategic places. Nothing grand, but just enough to be a reminder.

Auntie Lib, you bring up a great point about the down ticket races, and even Limbaugh spoke of that possibility. He encouraged each operative to let their own conscience be a guide in that matter.

Do you have any specific down ticket primary races that you think ought to be considered?

Dang it, too many computers with too many caches. That last post was mine, not the original Rich's.

One race that could be impacted is HD84.

John Ward faces a primary opponent who is a recent transplant from the Seattle area and is one of the Ron Paul/Roger Koopman hard-right-wing recruits. If Ward is defeated, the Democrat candidate - who is a self-professed warlock (I am NOT making that up!!!) will very likely be elected, since most of the district is in L & C County - not exactly Koopman territory.

It won't take much to cause the loss of a fairly safe moderate Republican seat in the House. It would be really tragic if we lost the majority in the House because a few shortsighted Republicans thought they could have an impact in the Democrat presidential primary.

Auntie Lib,
Then I would absolutely suggest you vote the Republican ticket in this case.

I fully intend to - but I don't live in the afore-mentioned HD84, so my vote doesn't impact that race. That was an example - and there might be more out there that aren't so obvious. That's why I think Operation Chaos is dangerous. I urge Republicans to vote the Republican ballot in the primary and let the Dems pick their own candidate.

By the way, when the Clinton's are in town this weekend, remember Cash Only! Clinton lends her struggling campaign $6.4 million

«But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.»
